Even surfaces that look and smell sparkly clean may be contaminated with germs and bacteria.
We do not want to take for granted the results are adequate, without proof, as we strive for integral quality with our work. That is why Joe’s AZ BIO has adopted the practice of using ATP bacteria testing, on a case by case basis upon your request, as a tool of our trade. It allows us to show you first hand how we are doing.
We also caution you that not every cleanup is metered. It is not possible to meter every cleanup as the meters are a delicate instrument and the swabs require to refrigeration. Since our crews are moving so swiftly they do not always carry the meter. Therefore, you need to request the service at time of scheduling.
How we test for bacteria
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is present in all organic material and is the universal unit of energy used in all living cells.
ATP monitoring is a rapid testing method that quickly assesses the cleanliness of surfaces or liquid samples.
Since germs can be transported within a structure, we swab multiple locations inside a home or business to determine to what level the affected area is cleaned.
It’s the same approach used by scientists to measure germs in labs, hospitals, and restaurants.
Swab readings of 0 – 100 relative light units (RLU) are considered to be relatively clean.
Any surface with a reading of 300 or more poses a danger and should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected immediately.
We aim for RLU readings of 0 to 30.

1.) When you hire us for a cleanup, upon request, we can swab the cleaned areas and provide test results to verify cleanliness.
2.) We can test areas of concern to help you assess how clean (or not) the surfaces are.
